Community Resource Volunteer
The Food Bank is looking for volunteers 18 and older to visit food pantries and meal sites to talk directly with guests, and guide and refer them to the programs and organizations that will best address their additional service needs.
Community Farms - All Summer Long!
Help plant and harvest fresh produce for the Food Bank at one of our community farms. Families and groups are welcome. Last year nearly 60,000 pounds of produce was distributed!
Volunteer at the Food Bank
Other than the opportunities listed above, all spots for individual volunteers are full thanks to a dedicated bunch of regular volunteers.
We have volunteer opportunities for corporate, civic and school groups to help inspect, sort and pack food for distribution. Volunteers must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 35 pounds. Presently, we are scheduling groups up to three months in advance.
Shifts are available weekdays from 9am-12pm and 12-3pm. Please check back regularly as the schedule may change.
If you are interested in having your group volunteer at the Food Bank, please contact our Volunteer and Special Events Manager, Kelly Seigh.
Additionally, individual students over the age of 14, in need of community service hours for school may inquire about availability during school breaks by also emailing Kelly.
Volunteers looking to fulfill a court ordered community service requirement should contact Serve Rhode Island.
