- Restoration
After any fire damage to your home or business, the first thing you should focus on is your safety!
Take these into consideration
- Is it safe to stay inside?
- Electrical and slip and fall hazards are some of the most common concerns.
- Wet materials can be very heavy, always use caution when trying to move these materials.
After a fire:
- Limit the movement in the home to prevent soot from being embedded into carpets and upholstery.
- If the electricity is off, empty the freezer and refrigerator and prop the doors open.
- Protect chrome with a light coat of petroleum jelly or oil.
- Change HVAC filter
- Tape a couple layers of cheesecloth over air registers.
What NOT to do after a fire
- Don’t attempt to wash any walls or carpets, or upholstery without contacting us.
- Don’t attempt to clean electrical appliances that were damaged by the fire on your own. Contact an authorized repair service.
- Don’t eat any food that was near the fire or damaged by the fire.
- Don’t turn on any ceiling fans or lights on, the wiring may be damaged.
- Don’t send your clothes to an ordinary dry cleaner, find a professional in fire damage cleaning. Improper cleaning may set smoke odor
