July 4th Fireworks - Use Caution!

New Englanders love Fourth of July, and why wouldn’t we? Grilling, burgers, beer, friends, and music? That sounds pretty awesome. July 4th marks America’s anniversary. July 4th festivities usually include parties and fireworks. Fireworks and sparklers are a lot of fun, but it is important to be safe and smart when working with them.
Not-So-Fun Fact: According to the United States Consumer product Safety Commission, firworks account for about 280 emergency room visits during the month of July. That’s a lot of injuries and burns! That’s no fun, so use these tips to avoid the ER.
- Keep children away from the fireworks
- Quickly move at least 10 feet away from the fireworks
- Do not use fireworks if you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs
- Have backup water (bucket or hose) ready in case of an unexpected fire
- If you’ve experienced fire, smoke, and soot damage please call SERVPRO of Northern Rhode Island at 401-949-9955 to repair your home or business
- Once fireworks are burnt out, pour some water on them to prevent anything from catching on fire in trashes or dumpsters
